  • Michigan City, Indiana Long Beach Country Club is seeking an energetic, service-focused Halfway House Attendant / Cook to join our Food & Beverage team.
This position operates our busy golf course turn stand, serving golfers and members with quick, friendly service while preparing quality food and beverages in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working independently, thrives during busy periods, and takes pride in delivering excellent hospitality. Position Summary The Halfway House Attendant / Cook is responsible for preparing food, serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintaining inventory, operating the point-of-sale system, and ensuring a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for members and guests. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Service Prepare and cook menu items including sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, wraps, breakfast items, and daily specials. Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards are met. Maintain proper food safety, sanitation, and storage procedures. Restock food and beverage inventory throughout the shift. Monitor product freshness and rotate stock appropriately. Beverage Service Serve beer, wine, cocktails, and other alcoholic beverages in accordance with Indiana liquor laws. Verify identification and ensure responsible alcohol service. Maintain all required liquor license certifications and permits. Member & Guest Service Provide friendly, efficient service to golfers and club members. Process orders quickly and accurately during peak golf times. Handle cash, credit card transactions, and point-of-sale operations. Maintain a positive, professional attitude while creating an exceptional member experience. Facility Operations Open and close the Halfway House according to established procedures. Maintain cleanliness of all food preparation, service, storage, and dining areas. Assist with inventory counts and ordering needs. Report equipment or maintenance concerns promptly. Qualifications Previous cooking, line cook, short-order cook, or fast-casual restaurant experience preferred. Previous bartending or beverage service experience preferred. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain all required Indiana alcohol service certifications. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong communication and customer service skills. Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Ability to work in varying weather conditions. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Schedule Seasonal position (April-October) Weekdays, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed. Morning, afternoon, and evening shifts available.
