Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our culinary and nutrition team. In this role, you will support the dietary department by assisting with meal preparation, food service, and maintaining high safety standards in food handling. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in food industry practices, culinary skills, and a commitment to providing nutritious and appealing meals for our residents or clients. Responsibilities Assist with menu planning in collaboration with the dietary team to ensure balanced and appealing meal options Prepare and portion food items according to established recipes and safety standards Execute cooking techniques with precision, including slicing, knife skills, and food presentation Support food safety management by adhering to proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures Serve meals efficiently while maintaining a welcoming environment for residents or customers Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas in compliance with safety standards Support catering events or special meal services as needed, ensuring timely delivery Follow all safety protocols during food production and service to prevent contamination or accidents Experience Prior experience working in dietary departments within healthcare facilities or similar settings preferred Proven background in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and catering practices Familiarity with safety standards in food production and handling procedures Experience working in restaurant kitchens or the food industry is highly advantageous Demonstrated knife skills and slicing techniques necessary for efficient meal prep Understanding of food safety management systems and proper sanitation practices Candidates with dietary aide experience, culinary expertise, or kitchen experience are encouraged to apply.
