The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of food safety practices. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in the kitchen by preparing ingredients and assisting in meal preparation to ensure our dishes are of the highest quality. This position is perfect for individuals looking to grow their culinary skills in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Duties Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring food items according to recipes and specifications. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, ensuring all utensils and equipment are sanitized and stored properly. Assist in cooking tasks as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager, including grilling, frying, and baking. Follow food safety guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure the quality of meals served. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service during peak hours. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report shortages to management. Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques. Qualifications Previous experience in food service or culinary roles is preferred but not required. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards in the kitchen. Proficient knife skills with the ability to handle various kitchen tools safely and efficiently. Familiarity with meal preparation techniques in a restaurant or food industry setting. Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn from experienced chefs.
