Dietary Manager Qualifications of position:
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must not have been convicted of a crime rationally related to their position
  • Must have ability to maintain quality, safety and infection control standards
  • Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of all resident information
  • Must be able to speak and understand the English language
  • Must successfully complete the certification requirements of the licensing state (if applicable)
  • Must attend and participate in continuing educational programs, as needed
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, families, visitors, government agencies, physicians, etc.
  • Must possess willingness to work harmoniously with all other staff
  • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level in which they are currently functioning
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
Duties and Responsibilities:
Handle and prepare food in a sanitary manner. Prepare food which is palatable and appetizing in appearance. Keep work area clean and sanitize work surfaces after food preparation. Follow written menus and recipes. Understand and be able to prepare therapeutic diets. Be responsible for avoiding food waste. Assume responsibility for meeting meal schedules. Be responsible for care of food service equipment. Work cooperatively with food service staff and other departments. Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality. Attend in-service training programs for food service employees. Perform other related duties as directed by his/her supervisor. Perform all duties assigned in an effective, timely and professional manner. Observe infection control procedures. Follow Residents' Rights policies at all times. Observe all policies and procedures. Assume Quality Assurance duties as assigned. Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner. Assume accountability for all data contained in the employees' handbook. Come to work in neat, clean attire and consistently present an appropriate professional appearance. Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality. Attempts will be made to honor preferred shifts , but the needs of the facility is a priority. Consistently work cooperatively with residents, residents' representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers. All other duties as assigned. Other responsibilities to be filled in by the organization.
