The Crowne Plaza is currently seeking skilled and passionate line cooks to support our restaurant and banquet operations. Responsibilities include food preparation for the restaurant, banquet events, grab and go outlet, and employee cafeteria. This position ensures high food quality and presentation is delivered to our guests through proper handling, preparation, storage and delivery. All line cooks are required to comply with local Health Department standards and safe food handling practices.

Schedule:

5am-2pm, 5 days a week. Weekend and holiday availability required. Essential Functions Hands on preparation of all Line items, including a) Sauté, b) Window, c) Broiler and Vegetable Station. Maintain par stock on all items used on Line; notify Supervisor daily of items to be requisitioned. Maintain a sanitary, organized work area and other assigned area per Chef's list, including: a) stoning the grill, b) Cleaning refrigerator on Line, c) Brushing the broiler, d) General wipe-down of Line including shelves, e) Proper rotation of food products. Prepare all orders as turned in by wait staff and ensures all orders cooked quickly and according to order; also ensures that food leaves the kitchen in peak condition. Learn menus, recipes, preparation, and presentation. Maintain the cleaning and organization of the walk-in, including proper rotation of products. Ensure that all food products are labeled, dated and put away after closing of restaurant. These practices must be in compliance with all Hotel and Health Department regulations.

Closing Line Cooks:

Ensure that all food has been properly stored/refrigerated; responsible for locking reach-ins, walk-ins, storage room and Chef's office before leaving at night. Keep your Supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance. Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position. Operate pot-washing machinery and maintain a hygienic working environment in accordance with hygiene regulations and company standards. Qualifications Knowledge of proper food handling and safety procedures. Ability to prepare food according to the hotel standard and guest expectations. Ability to multitask and accomplish a heavy work load in a timely manner while under pressure. Have the ability to connect with people quickly in an outgoing, friendly manner. One should have a sense of urgency. Have the ability to get work done in complete, accurate detail and in accordance with company standards. Have the ability to read and execute recipes. Ability to actively learn the conversions to understand and adjust recipes according to business levels Work Environment This job operates in a hotel kitchen. This role routinely uses kitchen equipment and appliances such as meat slicers, grills, stoves, ovens, mixers, refrigerators, freezers, dish machines, etc. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. One will be subjected to wet floors, temperature extremes, and loud noises. Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and move from area to area in the kitchen. Education and Experience

  • Will consider equivalency of education and experience 1+ Years cooking experience.
