Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Childcare Cook to join our vibrant team, committed to providing nutritious, delicious, and balanced meals for children in our care. Responsibilities Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks tailored to children's dietary requirements, including special diets or allergies. Plan weekly menus that incorporate balanced nutrition, variety, and appealing presentation. Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, mixing, portioning, and plating with precision and care. Maintain strict food safety standards by adhering to proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures. Assist with grocery shopping and inventory management to ensure all ingredients are fresh and available. Collaborate with childcare staff to coordinate meal times and ensure smooth service during busy hours. Keep the kitchen area clean, organized, and compliant with health regulations at all times. Open the center daily Skills Proven experience in dietary department or dietary aide roles, preferably within childcare or similar settings. Culinary experience including food handling, cooking techniques, knife skills, and food safety practices. Familiarity with food industry standards related to catering, food service, and restaurant operations. Excellent food preparation skills with the ability to create appealing meals that encourage healthy eating habits. Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
