This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your kitchen expertise in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Duties Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality. Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors safely and efficiently. Follow food safety protocols and handle ingredients properly to maintain cleanliness and prevent contamination. Assist in menu planning by suggesting new ideas and ensuring ingredient availability for daily specials. Maintain a clean work station by regularly cleaning utensils, surfaces, and kitchen appliances in accordance with health regulations. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service. Adhere strictly to safety standards during food production, including knife skills such as slicing techniques and portion control. Experience Previous experience in food service or restaurant kitchens is highly preferred; familiarity with the food industry is a plus. Experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide demonstrates knowledge of specialized food handling requirements. Proven skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and operating various kitchen equipment are essential. Knowledge of food safety management practices, including proper sanitation, food handling procedures, and recipe adherence. Catering experience or involvement in meal preparation for large groups enhances your ability to manage high-volume tasks efficiently. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and ensure smooth operations during busy hours. Demonstrated ability to follow safety standards in production environments while maintaining a focus on quality and efficiency.
