Jobs › Hyannis, MA › Prep & Line Cook Hy-Line Cruises Prep & Line Cook Hyannis, MA Apply The Prep and Line Cook ensures quality and stability of products by complying with production guidelines, following standardized recipes, and overseeing product quality through adequate storage, and product rotation. With a positive demeanor and enthusiasm the Prep and Line Cook will work effectively with the Chef and the kitchen team in the preparation of food items to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
. Comply with established procedures and food safety policies. Prepare food for caf? grab and go and to be packaged and transferred to vessels, following recipes and guidelines. Washing, peel, cut, and slice ingredients. Ensure ingredients are tagged, date-labeled, covered, stored, and rotated effectively. Remove expired or spoiled ingredients from the refrigerator, freezer, and stockroom Store ingredients and food items according to food safety standards Prepare workstation with required ingredients and equipment and keep station sanitary and organized throughout the shift. Prepare ingredients following established standard and/or Chef directions. Must be able to read, understand, and follow through with instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English Keep utensils and equipment clean and sanitary. Remove trash and clear storage bins. Certifications:
None Required Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 18 years if age, Prior experience as a prep and/or line cook strongly preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be a minimum of 18 years old. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to safely use kitchen equipment and appliances. Ability to follow recipes. Solid knowledge of food safety standards and procedures and food preparation fundamentals. Sound understanding of food allergies and foodborne illnesses. Proficient knife-handling skills. Strong communication skills, math, and reading skills in English. Excellent organizational skills Must be able to safely perform the essential duties for the position, with or without, reasonable accommodation.
