Job Description

The Position:
In the
Commissary:
As a Prep Cook , at Fireside Catering in Burlington, you will be responsible for prepping ingredients for a wide variety of menus including high end weddings in a scratch kitchen.
On Events :
As an Event Cook , at Fireside Catering, you will assist in the preparation, cooking and plating of delicious meals for a wide variety of events with unique menus according to the event timeline for 50-200+ guests, at premier event venues including the Estate at Moraine Farm, and Crane Estate. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a creative mindset, and excellent attention to detail. Full-time and part time hours available in a fun and fast-paced environment.
The Perks:
Flexible Schedule. Hours can easily be coordinated with another job or other commitments for a part time position. Full time hours available when combining prep hours with event hours. Additional compensation of $100 per shift with ability to drive a 14' to 16' box truck to events (delete for Barn) Employee dining discount

Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of ingredients for dishes, including cutting, chopping, and measuring ingredients Follow recipes and directions to ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented consistently and to high quality standards Work as a team with other kitchen staff members efficiently and effectively Ensure that all food is prepared and presented in accordance with food safety and sanitation guidelines Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including proper storage and labeling of all food items Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of all kitchen equipment, including knives, cutting boards, and food processors Ensure that all food waste is minimized and disposed of properly
Requirements:
Must be able to lift 30 lbs. Experience in a professional kitchen Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Desire to cultivate your culinary skills; learn proper knife skills, baking, etc. Take pride in your job

Strong communication skills, ability to follow direction and ability to work in a fast paced team environment
