Description:
Position Overview Prep Cooks perform various food preparation, cooking and cleaning tasks to ensure the kitchen remains efficient in creating and delivering dishes for patrons.
Their duties and responsibilities include:
Essential Functions, Skills and Knowledge Cooks and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment Executives on timely, consistent ticket orders Ensures food preparation pars are at level throughout the shift Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items Safely utilizes a variety of utensils including knives Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc. Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils Communicating to managers about product shortages Accurately check in produce orders and stores product in an organized method using the first in first out method. Ability to work multiple positions when needed Work with the Kitchen Manager to keep the kitchen operations and equipment running smoothly Maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude towards customers, co-workers, etc. Adheres to Stoked safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager
Requirements:
Required Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Experience as a cook or in a related role required Minimum of 2 years experience in a kitchen Proven knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage Understanding of food safety and allergen protocols Ability to follow all standards, policies and processes including though not limited to standards of conduct Ability to keep the kitchen clean and organized Demonstrates basic math and counting skills Ability to work in a kitchen environment that is small and ensure awareness of safety, space and boundaries when working with colleagues Ability to work in a kitchen environment that is small and ensure awareness of safety, space and boundaries when working with colleagues Ensure kitchen safety protocols are adhered with special attention to with hot objects, chemicals, and knives Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal Maintain a clean and presentable appearance Ability to follow instructions Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 50 pounds Maintain a positive attitude
