Back Head Cook Restaurant/Retail Salem , Oregon temp Aug 20, 2026 BBSI's client is looking for a lead cook for the morning shift to help ensuring smooth kitchen and dining operations in an outdoor camp setting. The kitchen staff works as a team to provide food for people attending the camp in a clean and organized setting. This is a seasonal position that typically runs steady through mid-November.
Wage:
starting at $19/hr,
DOE Location:
5390 4H Rd NW Salem Oregon 97304
Shift:
6 am to 2 pm Mon-Friday with occasional weekends
Responsibilities:
Oversee the preparation of breakfast, lunch and snacks for an outdoor camp. Prepare meals including breakfast items, sandwiches, garden salads, and dressings. Clean, cut, and chop vegetables and fruits as needed. Prepare sack lunches, snacks, and accommodate special requests from clients or staff. Maintain cleanliness of tables, chairs, sinks, counters, and serving areas. Wash and sanitize trays, carts, dishes, pots, pans, and utensils. Operate and maintain commercial equipment such as dishwashers, coffee pots, and blenders. Manage food deliveries, ensuring proper storage. Organize and maintain pantry, refrigerators, and freezers.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a food service or kitchen environment. Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
