Salary Range:
$23.00 - $25.00 HourlySmith & Wollensky is seeking an experienced Broiler Cook to join our high-volume culinary team. This position is responsible for preparing and cooking premium steaks and other menu items to exact specifications while maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation. High-volume steakhouse broiler experience is required for this position. Candidates must have a proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced steakhouse environment and consistently execute proper temperatures and cooking techniques during peak service periods. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and cook steaks, chops, seafood, and other menu items according to company recipes and specifications. Accurately cook proteins to requested temperatures while maintaining quality and consistency. Monitor product quality, presentation, and portion control standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked broiler station. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures. Communicate effectively with chefs and kitchen team members to ensure timely execution of service. Assist with opening, closing, and daily preparation duties as assigned. Maintain a sense of urgency and professionalism during high-volume service periods. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of broiler or grill experience in a high-volume steakhouse environment required. Strong knowledge of steak temperatures, grilling techniques, and protein cookery. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
