Responsibilities Prepare and assemble a variety of dishes with precision, including menu items that require fine dining presentation and catering services Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients, garnishes, and ensuring the availability of fresh supplies for daily service Handle food with care, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation standards to prevent contamination Support kitchen operations by performing food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and cooking using proper knife skills Serve food efficiently and courteously to guests, ensuring a positive dining experience in both restaurant and catering settings Maintain cleanliness of workstations, kitchen equipment, and utensils throughout shifts Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal preparation and delivery during busy hours Requirements Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable Proven background in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant service with a focus on quality and safety Strong knowledge of food handling procedures, kitchen safety protocols, and sanitation standards Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering operations preferred Excellent knife skills combined with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with the food industry's best practices for serving and food safety regulations Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed Join us at La Tolteca Joppa where your culinary talents can shine!
