Job Description

Overview Our facility, Egle Nursing and Rehab Center is seeking dedicated and skilled Cooks to join our culinary team. The positions are full time for the 11a to 7 p shift . We offer paid health/life/PTO/sick/ and 401k w/matching . The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment where quality, efficiency, and resident satisfaction are paramount. The Cook will be responsible for preparing meals according to established recipes, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols to deliver exceptional dining experiences. Duties Prepare and cook meals following standardized recipes and menu specifications while maintaining high-quality presentation. Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, ovens, stoves, and food processors. Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient selection and preparation methods to enhance meal offerings. Maintain proper food handling procedures to ensure safety standards are met throughout all stages of food production. Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen area by adhering to sanitation protocols and performing regular cleaning duties. Collaborate with kitchen staff and dietary aides to coordinate meal service and accommodate special dietary needs. Support food safety management practices by monitoring storage conditions, expiration dates, and proper disposal of waste. Requirements Proven experience in food industry settings such as restaurants, catering services, or dietary departments. Strong culinary skills with proficiency in slicing techniques, knife skills, and food preparation methods. Knowledge of safety standards in food production and experience operating commercial kitchen equipment. Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation processes. Experience in food handling, sanitation practices, and maintaining a clean work environment. Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with kitchen staff and other departments. Prior dietary aide or dietary department experience is a plus; restaurant or catering experience is highly valued. Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 40.0 per week
