Responsibilities Prepare and assemble menu items according to established recipes and specifications, ensuring consistency and quality. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including slicers, ovens, fryers, and other culinary tools. Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients and executing meal prep for large crowds during events. Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by following sanitation procedures, cleaning surfaces, utensils, and equipment regularly. Handle food safely by practicing proper food handling techniques, adhering to safety standards in production, and managing food storage correctly. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service during high-volume events. Support catering operations by assisting with special event setups, food presentation, and breakdown as needed. Experience ServSafe Certification required Prior dietary department experience or dietary aide experience is highly desirable. Proven food service experience within restaurant or catering environments, demonstrating knowledge of food safety management and recipe adherence. Skilled in food preparation techniques such as slicing, chopping, and portioning using proper knife skills and slicing techniques. Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Experience working within the food industry or culinary environment that emphasizes safety standards in production. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members during busy events.
