Friendship Village is seeking a compassionate and energetic individual to join our culinary team as a Cook which is responsible for preparation of all food items per standardized recipes and production sheets. This full-time position offers flexible scheduling, benefits, and no late nights, with a starting pay of $17.00 per hour. Ready to jump into a role that matters? Cook:
Prepares all soups, stocks, and sauces; boils, braises and roasts items as per standardized recipes. Prepares and serves all sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed and baked items as per standardized recipes. Prepares or directs the preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet orders. Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, so that quality, temperature and appearance of food is preserved. Got what it takes to shine in this role? Here are a few of the qualifications we are looking for: High School diploma required. Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English, understand measurements, make basic conversions, perform basic arithmetic, and follow basic oral and written instructions. A minimum of two years quantity cooking experience. Ability to plan and organize work and to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications, and standards.
