Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Child Care Cook to join our vibrant team! In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing meals tailored to the dietary needs of children in our care. Your culinary expertise will help create a positive mealtime experience that promotes health and happiness. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine culinary skills with a nurturing environment, ensuring every child receives high-quality food in a safe and welcoming setting. You can enjoy summers off in this position! The Child Care Cook operates on the school schedule of September through May. Preference in hiring is given to qualified Native American candidates. Please submit Native American credential with your resume to claim preference. Responsibilities Plan and develop balanced, kid-friendly menus that meet dietary guidelines and nutritional standards Prepare and cook meals using various techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food production methods suitable for children Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, knives, and food handling tools Ensure all food safety sanitizing procedures are followed rigorously to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment Manage high-volume food preparation while adhering to recipe specifications and portion control standards Collaborate with dietary department staff to accommodate special dietary restrictions or allergies Experience Prior dietary aide or culinary experience within a child care or educational setting is highly desirable Demonstrated expertise in menu planning, food preparation, and food safety management Skilled in operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining strict hygiene standards Familiarity with food safety sanitizing procedures and recipe adherence for consistent meal quality Proven ability to work in fast-paced environments with attention to detail and teamwork skills Join us in creating nourishing meals that make a difference!
