Job description: Cook/Assistant to the Culinary Director, M-F, FT $16-$18.50/hour
Summary:
Under the direction of the Culinary Director, primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supporting the overall functioning of the Culinary department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure the highest quality of customer service is available for our residents. All employees at Baldwin House are committed to our lateral service concept to assist other employees, teams and residents as needed in order to ensure a healthy, happy, and clean home for our residents. Works closely with the Culinary Director to cook for seniors living at the Baldwin House community. Verifying staff are in proper uniforms daily. Responsible for knowing all information in the employee-handbook. Assisting the scheduling and posting of work assignments for culinary aides, insuring there are adequate personnel on duty for the preparation and serving of meals, while maintaining staffing guidelines. Assisting in maintaining proper/hygienic food handling techniques and the overall sanitation requirements of a food service area and the personnel. Assisting with walking through the dining room during meals communicating with residents regarding satisfaction. Assisting with setting up food and supplies for special events in coordination with the building Executive Director and Life Enrichment Director. Assisting with maintaining sanitary conditions in dining room areas. Assisting with overseeing the proper use of all dietary equipment. Assisting with carrying out any emergency procedures required during shift Notes and reports areas or articles in need of repair Perform welcome orientation with new residents Engage in prospective resident visits Maintain regulatory compliance where applicable. Proficiency with software applications/programs/tools used by Baldwin House for Culinary Director position. Other duties as assigned by Executive Director or the Culinary Assistant. All Culinary Assistants must obtain and maintain a Serve Safe Certification. Other duties may be assigned as needed
