Job Description

Cook, Newberry. Need 5 temporary, full time workers from November 15, 2026 to March 31, 2027. 5 days/wk., 8 hr./day. Expected daily hourly schedule 11:30am - 8:30pm. Hours and days vary. May include evenings and weekends. $16.00/hr to $21.00/hr. Possible overtime at $24.00/hr to $31.50/hr. Worker will be paid on a: bi-Weekly basis.

Job duties:
Prepare meats, vegetables, and other ingredients required for line cooking using flat top grill, deep fryer, and pizza oven. Cook food items to menu specifications and recipes, including sandwiches, burgers, and pizzas. Follow recipes and portion standards when preparing food items. Assist with preparation of non-cooked food items. Use safe and sanitary food handling procedures throughout all stages of food preparation. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of cooking and prep areas, workstation, and kitchen equipment. Receive, rotate, and store inventory in designated areas. Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils as needed to support kitchen operations. Dispose of trash and food preparation waste.
Requirements:
No education required. Basic English skills. 12 months of experience as a cook or in a related cooking position required. Use of kitchen equipment, including knives, stoves, fryers, ovens, pizza oven, dishwashers, and sinks. Must be able to lift and carry weights sufficient to move equipment and material necessary to complete assigned tasks. Must be able to place cases, pans, utensils, and plates on both low and high shelves. Stand throughout the shift. 40 hours per week, 5 days per week. Shift starts at 11:30 AM and ends at 8:30 PM. Schedule may vary and can include evenings, weekends, or holidays, as needed. Employer will rely on worker's own representations and observations of worker to assess if worker meets the lifting, standing, and other physical ability requirements stated here. Workers will be provided with on-the-job training to perform the duties assigned. Workers will be provided, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned. Daily transportation is NOT provided to the worksite. Housing optionally available at a subsidized cost of $100.00/Weekly paid directly to the employer and not to be deducted from paycheck. Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and subsistence costs and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees). Transportation and subsistence (including meals and lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to the worker reimbursed, if the worker completes half of the employment period. Employer will provide or pay for transportation and subsistence costs back home or to where the worker originally departed to work upon completion of the work contract or early dismissal, except if the worker will not return home due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period. Employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law; no other deductions will be taken by the employer.
