Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of food safety practices. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in meal preparation, ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This position is perfect for individuals looking to advance their culinary skills in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Duties Assist in the preparation of ingredients for daily menu items, ensuring freshness and quality. Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to maintain consistency in food preparation. Conduct food handling and storage according to safety standards to prevent contamination. Utilize various kitchen tools, including knives, to chop, slice, and prepare vegetables, meats, and other ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper sanitation practices. Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service. Help with inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying management of low stock levels. Qualifications Previous experience in a food service or restaurant environment is preferred but not required. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling. Strong knife skills and familiarity with culinary techniques. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards. Excellent teamwork skills with a willingness to help others in the kitchen. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
