Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Leads the day-to-day operations at an individual school or feeding site. Head Cooks must ensure high standards for safety/sanitation and meal quality. School nutrition professionals who work at the "point of service" are on the frontlines of serving healthy school meals and encouraging students to embrace nutritious choices. Monday through Friday on days that school is in session. Hours are 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on most days; but must be able to work 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. if needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school Diploma or equivalent Basic computer literacy is required Licensed driver with vehicle Ability to work with others in a positive, productive way, while supervising other site employees Ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents, and the community while projecting a positive image that will enhance the Hot Lunch program Ability to follow and interpret oral and written instructions Ability to scale recipes Ability to manage time and organize tasks to complete required duties and paperwork each day in a timely manner Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds Meet all state and federal requirements including cleanliness of kitchen and equipment, FIFO procedures Can apply online or pick up a paper application in the Business Office, 430 St. Joseph Street, Union City, MI 49094.
