Job Description

Cook The Gun Flint Tavern in downtown Grand Marais is looking for a suitable candidate to join our team on the North Shore! We are looking for a an experienced individual to supervise and assist daily back of house restaurant operations. The responsibilities include supervising the food prep and cooking, maintaining a fully-stocked kitchen inventory and complying with safety and cleanliness standards, and training if need be. Ultimately, you will ensure all plates are properly cooked and served and our customers/staff have a pleasant experience. We are seeking someone who will be an asset to our restaurant with an eclectic menu/specials. We have three bars total in our space: dining room/bar, "The Raven" Pub and "The Ravens Nest" on our roof. Our kitchen was recently renovated with new equipment.

Duties:
Maintain food production areas, including cleaning and stocking of all ingredients and cooking ware, as well as sanitation and safety standards. Prepare all food items according to the menu, including following recipes and standard recipes for standard meals. Follow standard procedures for sanitizing and cleaning cooking equipment and utensils. Ensure that all food items are prepared in advance and stored properly. Experience:
Minimum 1 year experience in the kitchen or restaurant industry.
