Job Description

CURA of Watkins is looking for a dependable and motivated PT Prep Cook to support our kitchen team in preparing ingredients and assisting with meal production. This part-time position is ideal for individuals who enjoy food preparation and want to contribute to the delivery of high-quality meals in a healthcare environment. As a Prep Cook, you will help ensure the kitchen operates smoothly by performing essential tasks such as chopping, measuring, and organizing food items. Join CURA and be a key player in providing nutritious meals that support patient health and satisfaction. This position is PT, with room for more hours. Typically, there are 12 hours per pay period, or 2 shifts a week. This position includes every other weekend and holiday rotation.
Key Responsibilities Assist with the preparation of ingredients following established recipes and standards. Wash, peel, chop, and portion fruits, vegetables, and other food items. Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas and kitchen equipment. Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines strictly to ensure a safe kitchen environment. Stock and organize food supplies under the guidance of the Cook or Dietary Manager. Support kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service and consistent quality. Requirements Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen work preferred but not required. Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices. Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a team setting. Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle kitchen tasks. Flexibility to work part-time hours, including potential evenings or weekends.
