In this vital role, you will assist in preparing ingredients, following recipes meticulously, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Duties Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, slicing, chopping, and measuring according to recipe specifications. Assist in assembling menu items with precision, ensuring consistency and presentation standards are met. Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, ovens, and food processors safely and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness of workstations by cleaning utensils, equipment, and surfaces regularly to uphold food safety standards. Follow strict food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene throughout all stages of meal preparation. Support the culinary team in meal assembly and plating during busy service periods. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth kitchen operations. Experience Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable. Hands-on experience with food preparation, cooking, and kitchen equipment operation in a restaurant or food industry setting. Knowledge of safety standards in food production, including proper food handling and sanitation practices. Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques such as slicing and portioning. Experience with catering or serving in a fast-paced environment is a plus. Strong knife skills and slicing techniques are preferred to ensure efficiency and safety during prep work. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and adherence to food safety management protocols.
