Job Description
Experienced cooks that help create new dishes with amazing taste and a presentation that can wow. OR Let us train you. Pay will be based on experience. Requirements and Qualifications Proven experience as prep &/or line cook OR be willing to take a training period. Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils A team player with good communication skills Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure Very good physical condition and endurance In school, Out of school, no school. Expectations include, but are not limited to:
- Follow the kitchen leads and GM prep list to plan daily work
- Completing all tasks, in order, on the prep list from management
- Label ingredients and food items and stock pantry and refrigerator shelves in an organized manner
- Properly store food items in designated containers
- Sanitize work areas and equipment, wash dishes, take out trash
- Measure seasonings, condiments, and ingredients for use in cooking
- Portion and wrap food
- Clean and cut or grind meat, fish, poultry, and shellfish
- Washing, chopping & sorting ingredients like fruits, vegetables and meats
- Place food in warming trays or refrigerated storage as appropriate
- Carry food items and utensils to food stations
- Use manual and electric equipment for food preparation
- Inform managers of broken or malfunctioning equipment Perform basic cooking tasks such as stirring, straining, and parboiling food and reducing sauces Package take out foods
- Maintain records of quantities of foods and ingredients used
- Update supervisors when stock of food items or supplies are low
- Adhering to all relevant nutrition and sanitary regulations and standards. Keeping track of ingredient inventory and collaborating with other kitchen and management staff to order resupply Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc. Comply with nutrition and sanitation and food safety guidelines Perform other duties as assigned
- Availability for early morning shifts, evening & weekends, as needed.
- Manual dexterity to ensure proper operation of kitchen utensils and cutting tools
- Effective communication skills
- Proficient in English
- Adept at performing tasks well in a fast-paced environment
- Able to stand through duration of shift
