In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, assisting with menu planning, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Your culinary expertise and attention to food safety standards will ensure our guests receive exceptional meals every time. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your cooking skills, work collaboratively with kitchen staff, and contribute to a vibrant food service operation. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to recipes, standards, and safety guidelines Assist with meal preparation, including slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, mixers, and food processors Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen appliances in compliance with food safety regulations Support menu planning by preparing ingredients in advance and suggesting improvements based on operational needs Follow food handling procedures to ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and ensure timely service Adhere strictly to safety standards in production areas to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment Assist with catering events or special meal preparations as needed Ensure all food served meets quality standards and recipe adherence is maintained at all times Qualifications Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of food safety management practices and handling procedures Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient preparation Experience with dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining consistency in meal quality Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen environment Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Knowledge of culinary techniques, food industry standards, and safety regulations Experience in catering or large-scale meal preparation is advantageous A passion for cooking, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to food preparation tasks
Pay:
From $16.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 40.0 per week
