Food Service Department Employment Type:
Full-time, non-exempt, hourly (bi-weekly pay)
Schedule:

Overview:
Glendive Medical Center is seeking a dependable and team-oriented Institution & Cafeteria Cook to join our Dietary Services team. In this role, you will prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals for patients, staff, and visitors while supporting a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced setting and take pride in preparing meals that make a difference in people's day, we'd love to have you on our team.
What You'll Do:
Prepare and cook large batches of food according to established menus and portion requirements Ensure meals meet dietary, nutritional, and safety guidelines Clean, cut, and cook meats, fish, and poultry to appropriate temperatures Bake breads, rolls, and pastries Portion and serve meals to patients, staff, and visitors Oversee and support staff assisting with food preparation and service Assist with training new team members Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including equipment, utensils, and work areas Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment Maintain accurate food usage and inventory records Assist with menu planning and meal preparation decisions Follow all sanitation, safety, and food handling regulations Perform other related duties as assigned
What We're Looking For:
Strong teamwork and communication skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Willingness to learn food safety, sanitation, and preparation best practices Ability to stay organized and maintain a clean workspace Dependable and able to work well under pressure Qualifications High school diploma or vocational training in food service preferred Previous cooking or food service experience preferred Ability to obtain ServSafe Certification and BLS certification within one year Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed
Benefits:

Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is a full-service, 25-bed acute care hospital with 24-hour emergency care, full medical and surgical services, and an attached 36-bed skilled Extended Care facility.
