The Cook ensures compliance with the Child and Adult Care Food Program ( CACFP ), state licensing regulations, and health and safety standards while promoting healthy eating habits in a positive and child-friendly environment. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 9am to 1pm. The Cook ensures compliance with the Child and Adult Care Food Program ( CACFP ), state licensing regulations, and health and safety standards while promoting healthy eating habits in a positive and child-friendly environment. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 9am to 1pm. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks that meet CACFP meal pattern requirements. 2. Maintain accurate CACFP records, including menus, production records, and meal counts. 3. Order, receive, and properly store food and kitchen supplies. 4. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment, and ensure food preparation, handling, and storage practices comply with local health department regulations. Required Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills 1. Must be at least 18 years of age. 2. High school diploma or GED . 3. Experience preparing meals for groups, preferably in a child care, school, or institutional setting. 4. Knowledge of CACFP regulations and meal pattern requirements preferred. 5. Food Handler's Permit and/or ServSafe Certification, or ability to obtain upon hire. 6. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and nutrition guidelines. 7. Ability to maintain accurate records and complete required documentation Preferred Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills 1. Experience working in an early childhood education environment. 2. Experience with menu planning, budgeting, and purchasing food supplies. 3. Training in child nutrition or related field. The Successful Candidate Will Special Requirements Physical Demands 1. Ability to stand for extended periods. 2. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. 3.
