Job Description
Job Overview Basil's is looking for an experienced cook to join our kitchen team. We are a locally owned restaurant focused on delivering high quality food to our guests. We offer a full bar, weekly wine tastings, 20 taps of craft beer and cider, and more! Applicants should have at least 6 months of experience working on a line and be comfortable working in different areas of the kitchen as needed, including sauté, prep, salads, sandwiches, and plating. Chef Scott leads our kitchen. His 25+ years of experience has included a wide variety of restaurant settings, making this a great opportunity for someone wanting to continue learning and growing in a professional and supportive environment. We're looking for someone who: Works well under pressure Communicates clearly with the team Stays organized and clean during service Is dependable and punctual Is interested in learning new skills Asks questions when unsure Is willing to help where needed We believe that delivering a good experience to guests and coworkers requires a team-oriented kitchen. Flexibility and a positive attitude matter as much as experience. Specific pay is based on experience, skill, and capability. Full and part time are available.. Shifts are available at a variety of days and times. Some weekend availability is required. We are frequently busy during university breaks and require some availability during these times.
