Job Description

Our company is looking for an innovative cook to assist the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking meals. You will provide support to the Executive Chef and prepare food in accordance with recipes and company policies. The cook must use creativity and ingenuity to develop new dishes and improve current recipes. As a cook, you should be creative, love to work in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure. Attention to detail is also essential. We expect you to be able to provide support for the Executive Chef, prepare meals and maintain a clean, organized kitchen. Ultimately, your goal will be to help us serve high-quality food while maintaining a great customer experience.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and present food in accordance with the menu and standards of quality, service and value . Anticipate customer needs to recognize potential problem areas . Monitor the kitchen for proper food quality, preparation and presentation . Coordinate the work of subordinate staff . Greet guests in a timely fashion and respond appropriately to their requests. Confirm that all specials are being prepared, recorded and presented accurately and are available to guests. Create a schedule for the entire cooking staff that ensures food quality, preparation and presentation are continuously met, while also meeting production requirements. Perform daily inventories of food, supplies and equipment. Ensure that all kitchen appliances are working properly and are of proper quality. Prepare menus based on company standards and customers preferences. Enforce standards of cooking, sanitation, and employee performance. Schedule employees' work hours in accordance with production schedules. Supervise and train employees on proper procedures for how to handle different foods, cooking methods, kitchen equipment etc.
