Job Description

Where You'll Work CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is a 25 bed critical access hospital with a Level V Emergency Department that is available 24 hours a day. Our hospital has been committed to providing patients quality medical treatment in the Turtle Lake area and surrounding communities since 1952. Through the years, the hospital has sought to continually upgrade the quality and numbers of services it provides. The hospital's affiliation with major medical centers and health care agencies has allowed it to expand its health care services through a network that begins at the local level. CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is equipped with 2 emergency rooms, on-site lab, radiology, CT and physical therapy services. Our patients have access to 24/7 emergency care, swing-bed programs, and acute care services. Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Cook, you will help ensure patients and staff receive nutritious and satisfying meals so they can support their health and enhance their overall hospital experience. Every day you will contribute to various aspects of food service operations within a fast-paced hospital environment. You will be expected to primarily focus on food preparation and cooking, but also flexibly assist with tray service, patient-facing interactions, and other department support duties as needed. To be successful in this role, you must thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, demonstrate strong flexibility, and possess a commitment to providing excellent service.
Food Preparation & Adaptation:
Prepares and serves food according to menu guidelines and dietary requirements, utilizing various kitchen equipment, and modifies preparations for food allergies
Food Safety & Temperature Control:
Adheres to healthcare foodservice regulations, including monitoring and maintaining proper food temperatures during cooking, holding, and storage
Preventing Contamination & Hygiene:
Actively avoids cross-contamination of foods and strictly follows personal hygiene requirements to ensure food safety
Organized Storage:
Maintains proper labeling and storage of all food items, equipment, and machinery
Sanitation & Cleanliness:
Performs washing and cleaning duties to ensure high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in cooking and serving areas
Equipment Operation:
Utilizes a range of kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, fryers, steamers, stove tops, and grills during food preparation We are offering a $1,500 employment incentive to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.
