Assistant Director Overview:

A Step Ahead Child Care Centers is seeking a caring, dependable, and versatile team member to serve as a Support Specialist with responsibilities spanning school-age transportation, food service, classroom support, and facility upkeep . This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and finds joy in contributing to a smooth, safe, and nurturing experience for both children and staff. Cook & Food Program Support Prepare and serve meals/snacks according to the center's nutritional guidelines and USDA Food Program. Ensure a warm, supportive atmosphere during meals—joining children and staff when appropriate. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, food prep areas, and dishes. Complete and organize food program paperwork and assist with grocery inventory or orders as needed. Qualifications Experience in food preparation and/or food service Strong multitasking skills and comfort moving between kitchen duties. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods. Clear communication and a team-oriented, upbeat attitude. Must meet all state licensing requirements including background checks and training. Who You Are A dependable, cheerful team player who loves being around kids.
