Job Description
ATS Facility Services is seeking skilled and motivated individuals to join our growing team. We have openings for an Assistant Cook for Palmer Public Schools, in Palmer Nebraska! Job Summary Assist in food preparation, serving & clean up. Holding equipment, stove, oven, steamer Portion control equipment Choice bar Refrigeration equipment. Slicer Working Conditions 1. Number of hours and days are specified in work agreement. Monday through Friday; except for school holidays. Exceptions are stated in school calendar. 1. Nine month per year. 3. Kitchen is well lighted, ventilated and comfortable (although it may be hot in late August and late May). 4. Much standing on feet required and some lifting Duties
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for various dishes, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in food quality.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including washing dishes and sanitizing work areas.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and practices to ensure a safe dining experience for all guests.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives and other food preparation tools.
- Support the culinary team during meal service by plating dishes and ensuring timely delivery of food.
- Collaborate with dietary aides and other staff members to meet specific dietary needs of clients or guests. Skills
- Experience in a restaurant or catering environment is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper handling techniques.
- Basic knife skills and familiarity with various kitchen equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards helping others.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
