Manager/Cook MAST School, Atlantic Highlands NJ Mon-Fri 7:15am till 12:30pm Seeking a talented Cook Manager to join our AMAZING Dining Services Team. Enjoy a work/life balance with this daylight shift, following the school calendar! Seeking experienced and reliable Manager/Cook to handle daily operations in a school cafeteria. Responsibilities will include daily preparation of menu, placing orders, managing inventory, cash handling and sanitation. Lifting up to 30lbs required. Must have reliable transportation and be able to handle working on your feet for several hours straight. Your work schedule is the school calendar, days off are based on that schedule. Job Summary We are looking for an energetic and experienced Manager to lead our hospitality team and oversee daily restaurant operations. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth service, maintaining high standards of food quality and safety, and creating a welcoming environment for both staff and guests. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, hospitality, and team leadership, with a strong background in restaurant management and food service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to drive success and foster a positive dining experience. Duties Manage day-to-day restaurant operations, including shift management, staff scheduling, and ensuring excellent customer service. Supervise food preparation, cooking processes, and food safety standards to maintain high-quality meals. Oversee inventory control, ordering supplies, and managing food production to minimize waste and control costs. Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation. Train, develop, and mentor staff members to enhance their skills in food handling, customer service, and team collaboration. Conduct staff interviews and participate in hiring decisions to build a strong hospitality team. Analyze profit and loss reports to identify opportunities for improving restaurant performance and profitability. Qualifications Proven experience in restaurant management or food service management with a background in quick service or casual dining environments. Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety regulations. Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is preferred. Excellent leadership skills with experience supervising teams in hospitality or kitchen settings. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and perform basic math calculations efficiently. Demonstrated ability to manage inventory control, budgeting, and profit analysis. Exceptional communication skills for managing staff training, customer interactions, and managerial tasks.
