Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The Cook will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of nutritious and appealing meals in accordance with established recipes, safety standards, and dietary guidelines. This role requires a strong understanding of food handling, kitchen operations, and food safety management to ensure high-quality service and compliance with health regulations. The ideal candidate will bring culinary expertise, excellent communication skills with kitchen staff, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and menu plans Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and slicing tools Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all stages of food preparation Assist in menu planning by suggesting innovative ideas while adhering to dietary restrictions Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures are followed consistently Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and service Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation to meet established standards Clean workstations, utensils, and equipment regularly to uphold cleanliness standards Support catering events or special meal requests as needed Follow safety standards in production to prevent accidents or contamination Experience Candidates should possess prior experience in food industry roles such as restaurant cooking, catering, or dietary departments. Experience in dietary aide roles or working within healthcare or institutional settings is highly desirable. A background in menu planning, food preparation, and culinary techniques—including knife skills and slicing methods—is essential. Familiarity with food safety management practices, recipe adherence, and meal preparation processes is required to ensure consistent quality. Candidates with experience operating various kitchen equipment and maintaining safety standards will excel. Strong communication skills with kitchen staff are necessary for effective teamwork. Previous roles involving food service experience across diverse settings will be considered an asset. A demonstrated commitment to food safety standards and the ability to follow detailed instructions precisely are critical for success in this role. TJB01
