WEEKENDS
11am-7pm / 8am-4pm Pay Rate = $22-$26 per hourEducation/Experience/Personal Requirements:
Commercial cooking experience preferred or domestic cooking experience with large groups. Enjoy working with older adults. Certificate in food-preparation training preferred. Supervisory experience preferred. High school diploma or GED required. Must have valid Food Handlers Serve Safe Certification Responsibilities Alters or adapts recipes to accommodate special dietary needs of residents or to improve recipes. Recipes should be prepared with little or no added sodium (salt). Maintains a written inventory of dry goods, refrigerated and frozen foods, non-food supplies, dishes and utensils. Prepares meats for storage and portion control upon delivery; ensures proper storage of all delivered foods and ingredients. Maintains a clean, orderly and safe kitchen environment. Ensures proper handling, labeling and storage of food for infection control. Ensures compliance with regulations. Monitors portion control to meet resident' requests and minimizes waste. Ensures attractive presentation of food on the plate before serving. Notify Manager of malfunction of equipment or appliances. Carries out other duties as assigned by supervisor. Follows emergency operations plans and properly in the usage of firefighting equipment and ensures resident evacuation of the building. Prepares food daily as outlined on the weekly menu plan. Assists with menu planning; review and adjust menus with supervisor to accommodate foods in season, vendor sale prices, special events and holiday. Must adhere to all Human Resources and facility policy and procedures.
