Know Your Team:
Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200+ employees, and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit. Responsibilities The Cook is responsible for preparing food items under acceptable conditions as outlined under state and local regulatory standards and guidelines. The Cook will follow all established policies and procedures, and additionally, may be directed by the Executive Chef and/or Director of Food and Nutrition Services, to further assure that quality food services are provided at all times. Consistently follow the menu and special diet instructions as prescribed by the attending physician. Prepare food according to standardized recipes, therapeutic diets, and cooking schedules to meet mealtime schedules. Assist in establishing food service during the production line, etc., to assure that meals are prepared on time. Process food items according to diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing units. Perform any and all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
Considerable knowledge of sanitation regulations and practices as applied to institutional kitchens.
Preferred Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. 1 year of experience in institutional food handling. Previous experience in a Nursing Home, Corporate Office, Hospital or School setting. Culinary school graduate
