Job Description

Basic Job Description Prepare and cook to order a variety of foods that require only a short preparation time. They usually work on many orders at once, getting them all out as fast as possible for hungry customers. Job Duties and Tasks Clean and stock food preparation equipment, work areas before, during and after shift. Run used items through dishwasher and use a 3-compartment sink. Equipment includes proper operation of a flat top grill, deep fryer, TurboChef convection oven, microwave, and other simple food preparation methods. Ability to measure and weigh ingredients, monitor food for freshness and safety, maintain a clean kitchen and store ingredients properly. Ability to prepare and cook foods that require short preparation times, paying attention to customer requirements. Plan and time the work on orders so that items served together are finished at the same time. Ability to grill, cook, and fry simple foods such as French fries and other appetizers, eggs, burgers, quesadillas, wraps and more. Properly portion and garnish dishes for quantity and presentation as advised and trained per company policy. Basic kitchen knowledge is required to complete most tasks and food preparation methods. Formal education is not required. If hired, an active ServSafe Food Handling Safety Certificate is required for this position within first 30 days of employment to be displayed on premises and in employee file. Job Activities Ideal candidate should be attentive to detail and be able to make observations and act upon those observations to complete the food orders in the most efficient manner. The performance of general physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body such as climbing a stepladder, lifting, walking, standing for long periods of time, stooping and bending regularly during cooking and daily equipment cleaning tasks. Compensation Holiday Bowl offers a generous and competitive non-exempt hourly wage for short order cooks. Pay is based on experience but generally starts at approximately $18 per hour part-time and $19-22 per hour for full time. We offer employee meal and bowling discounts and a bi-weekly payroll with direct deposit. Health insurance option available after 90 days for full-time employees and other benefits may be available. Availability Part time or Full Time Candidate must be available to work on weekends (Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday). Please include your experience/resume and work availability when applying.
