Job Description

Cook - Childcare Center Auntie Nikki's Daycare Center is seeking a dependable, organized, and caring Cook to prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children in our early childhood program. The ideal candidate understands the importance of healthy nutrition, food safety, and creating meals that meet the needs of young children. Position Details Full-Time Monday-Friday No evenings, weekends, or major holidays Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks for children. Follow approved menus and portion requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen. Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations. Track food inventory and assist with ordering supplies. Accommodate food allergies, dietary restrictions, and special meal requirements. Maintain meal production records and other required documentation. Wash dishes, clean kitchen equipment, and ensure proper food storage. Work collaboratively with center staff to support children's health and well-being. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a cook, food service worker, cafeteria cook, or childcare center cook. Knowledge of CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) meal patterns, portion sizes, and documentation requirements strongly preferred. Understanding of USDA nutrition guidelines. Food Handler's Permit or ability to obtain one. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Desired Skills Strong organizational skills. Attention to detail. Ability to work independently. Positive attitude and teamwork. Experience serving meals to children preferred.
