Job Description
Marathon Staffing, a premiere staffing company, is seeking Experienced Cooks to join our team in the beautiful Lake Tahoe area. Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and dependable Cook to prepare and cook a variety of high-quality food items in a fast-paced casino restaurant environment. The Cook will be responsible for following recipes and food preparation standards, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and ensuring all meals are prepared and served according to established quality and presentation standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and cook food according to established recipes, menus, and portion-control standards. Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, measuring, and mixing food items. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Ensure food is prepared and served at the appropriate temperature and quality. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation. Properly store, label, and rotate food and supplies. Monitor food inventory and notify management when supplies are needed. Assist with receiving and stocking food and kitchen supplies. Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards. Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with other kitchen and restaurant Team Members. Follow all casino and restaurant policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Supervisor. Qualifications Previous experience as a Cook, Line Cook, Prep Cook, or similar kitchen position preferred. Experience working in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, or casino environment is preferred. Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety practices. Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds , as needed. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team. Must be available to work 3 pm-11 pm, or as needed. Preferred Requirements Food Handler Safety Card, preferred by the local health authority. Previous experience working in a casino or hospitality environment. INDG
