Job Opening Information 26-27 Assistant Cook 01 Job Number 26-27 Assistant Cook 01 Application Deadline 9/1/2026 Position Title 26-27 Assistant Cook 01 Required Application Type School Related Personnel Salary/Pay Scale $18.06 Per Current Contract Job Description The Hilton Central School District has an Assistant Cook vacancy. Exact hours and locations will be discussed during interviews. Responsibilities include but are not limited to cold meal prep, preparing and cooking hot food, salads, A La Carte items and more. The Assistant Cook will also serve as the supervisor in the absence of the Cook Manager. Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, abilities and personal characteristics: Must meet minimum qualifications of Civil Service as described Previous cooking experience in a fast paced environment Strong ability to multi-task Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Civil Service Title Assistant Cook Job Qualifications Minimum qualifications (per Civil Service) for this position are
EITHER:
(A) Successful completion of a recognized certificate program in Food Service Administration specifically dealing in Food Production rather than Management; OR, (B) One (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in food preparation on a large scale for a cafeteria, restaurant, hotel, or institution, other than short order or fast food.
NOTE:
Applicants qualifying under option (A) must submit a copy of a certificate or diploma in support of satisfactory program completion.
