Commissary Cook (Plant-Based Kitchen)

Upper West Side /
Morningside Heights, NYC Pay:
$22-$24 per hour (based on experience, paid training) Schedule 3 Shifts (Monday & Tuesday 4 pm- 10.30 pm, Thursday 11.30 am to 4.30 pm) Consistent hours per week No late nights Position Overview We are seeking a reliable, experienced Commissary Cook to support our plant-based kitchen operations. This role focuses on preparation, heating and assembly, organization, cleanliness, and consistency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working within established systems to support smooth daily service. This position is ideal for someone who values structure, consistency, and a predictable schedule in a well-organized kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare, heat, and assemble menu items according to established recipes and standards Execute prep tasks accurately and efficiently to support service needs Maintain consistency and attention to detail across all prepared items Assist with dishwashing and general kitchen support as needed Keep workstations, equipment, and storage areas clean and organized Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines Communicate clearly and work collaboratively with the kitchen team Experience & Qualifications Minimum 2-3 years of commissary, prep, or line cook experience required Strong reliability and punctuality Ability to follow systems, recipes, and prep standards consistently Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment Professional attitude and strong work ethic Logistics & Fit 18-20 consistent weekly hours No late nights Paid training Best reached from the Bronx, Manhattan, or Queens (Brooklyn commute may be challenging for this schedule)
