Job Description

About Jazba:
Jazba is a vibrant, high-energy Indian restaurant in the East Village celebrating the diverse flavors, regions, and traditions of India through bold cooking, modern technique, and seasonal NYC ingredients. We are a chef-driven, fast-paced kitchen focused on precision, consistency, and creativity. Our team values respect, curiosity, and a commitment to growth. Our sister restaurant is Junoon Restaurant.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Line Cook who is organized, motivated, and passionate about cooking. The ideal candidate works clean, communicates well, and thrives in a busy kitchen environment. You will work closely with the Chef to execute dishes with consistency and uphold Jazba's culinary standards.
Responsibilities:
Execute dishes during service with accuracy, urgency, and attention to detail Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient station at all times Perform prep work following standardized recipes Assist in receiving, labeling, and storing ingredients properly Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines Work collaboratively with the kitchen team and communicate during service Contribute to a positive, respectful, and professional kitchen culture
Requirements:
1 year NYC kitchen experience preferred, but we will train the right candidate Strong knife skills and understanding of basic cooking techniques Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed Excellent attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods Interest in Indian cuisine or global flavors is a plus—not required. •
