N/A For positions that have only a rate listed, the displayed rate is the hiring rate but could be subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education or other relevant factors. Under the direction of the Director of Food and Nutrition Services, Manager of Food & Nutrition Services and/or Kitchen Supervisor performs a variety of routine tasks and operations to prepare and cook food items as assigned for meal service. Responsible for the preparation of hot and cold items for patient line, Hudson View Café, Cornwall cafeteria, and hospital special functions. Takes full responsibility for prep and cooking of assigned meals. Makes sure that all areas are kept clean and sanitized. May supervise other food service personnel. Assists with the supervision and planning of all display cooking. Complies with standards established by St. Lukes Cornwall Hospital, and all regulatory agencies and JCAHO.
Education/Training:
High School Diploma or GED preferred. Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
Experience:
At least four years of experience as a cook, preferably in a high-volume environment. Must be able to follow and give understandable written and verbal instructions. Good planning, organizational, and communication skills. Manual and visual dexterity required.
