JOB SUMMARY
Hillside Provisions is a family-owned café and restaurant opening in Fall 2026 in West Harrison, NY. We will offer exceptional craft coffee alongside morning, daytime, and evening services, aiming to create a new level of dining experience in Westchester County. We are seeking to hire all BOH positions, across all stations—including Saucier/Proteins, Entremetier/Hot Line, Garde Manger/Pastry, and Café/Daytime Line, Prep Cooks, Dishwasher, Porter. This role is ideal for dedicated folks who take pride in scratch cooking, value kitchen cleanliness and organization, and thrive in a structured, calm, and collaborative environment. RESPONSIBILITIES
Owning station prep, setup, service execution, and breakdown across assigned stations. Executing food to established standards for recipe accuracy, doneness, seasoning, portioning, and visual plating.
Managing station pars and daily prep lists to ensure complete readiness before service starts.
Maintaining clear, professional communication with the expediter/pass and neighboring stations during peak service.
Labeling, dating, storing, and rotating all prepared food and raw ingredients using proper FIFO standards.
Minimizing food waste through proper trimming techniques, yield awareness, and portion control.
Keeping stations, cutting boards, reach-ins, and shared kitchen areas clean, organized, and sanitary at all times.
Following all health department (DOH) regulations, temperature controls, and internal kitchen safety SOPs.
Communicating low pars, ingredient shortages, or equipment maintenance issues promptly to the Chef.
Assisting with receiving, inspecting, and storing food deliveries as needed.
Supporting teammates with prep projects or cross-station coverage during busy rushes.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience & Skills 1-3+ years of professional kitchen cooking experience in a scratch-cooking, high-standard restaurant or café.
Strong knife skills, foundational cooking techniques, and solid station organization habits.
Ability to read and execute standardized recipes with consistency and precision.
Strong timing and multitasking ability under fast-paced service pressure.
Clear verbal communication skills with a coachable, team-oriented mindset.
Food Protection Certificate preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and move for 8+ hours per shift, up to 5 days a week
- Comfortable working in close proximity to others in a fast-paced, hot kitchen environment
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, grasp, and move efficiently across all kitchen line stations Environment & Schedule Fast-paced, detail-oriented atmosphere focused on excellence
- Full-time and part-time positions available (AM Café/Prep, Mid-day, and PM Dinner service)
