About Our Central Kitchen For almost 10 years, Old Scratch Pizza has been serving authentic Neapolitan-style pizza throughout the Dayton area. Our Central Kitchen in Centerville is where the magic begins—where we batch-produce everything fresh, from scratch, with no shortcuts and zero preservatives. Using high-quality ingredients and our proprietary recipes, you'll work with state-of-the-art equipment to create products that meet the highest standards for quality, freshness, and safety. Your Role in the Central Kitchen As a Central Kitchen Cook, you'll be responsible for the large-scale production of the components that power all Old Scratch Pizza locations.
Your typical day includes:
Preparing recipes for batch production of signature sauces, dressings, pizza dough, and house-made toppings Operating commercial-grade kitchen equipment to prepare large batches Maintaining detailed inventory and temperature logs to ensure food safety Portioning, packaging, and labeling all prep items to our exacting standards Keeping the kitchen spotless—cleaning and sanitizing equipment, appliances, and storage areas throughout production What We're Looking For We're seeking both part-time and full-time team members who bring: Experience in large-scale batch food production — Hotels, banquets, hospitals, institutional kitchens, or high-volume restaurants Proven skills in batch cooking — Experience with large-scale sauces, dressings, and meat preparation Food safety knowledge — Training in safe food handling with immaculate sanitary work practices that meet ODA kitchen requirements Valid Ohio driver's license Self-motivation and reliability — You show up, you're hungry to learn, and your team can count on you Positive attitude — Bright, friendly, and always willing to help a teammate Attention to detail — Ability to read and precisely follow recipes and detailed instructions Physical capability — Able to stand for 8-hour shifts and lift up to 50 pounds Work Environment & Physical Requirements This position requires work in a commercial kitchen environment with: Frequent exposure to high temperatures and extreme cold (walk-in coolers/freezers) Regular contact with water, sanitation solutions, produce, dairy products, and common allergens (nuts, citrus, gluten) Extended periods of standing and walking Bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds for stocking inventory and supplies Repetitive motion of wrists, hands, and fingers Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating kitchen equipment Ability to communicate clearly and avoid dangerous situations We're hiring both part-time and full-time positions.
