Part-time 2nd shift, 11:00am - 7:00pm every other weekend and every other holiday.
Job Summary:
Preparation of meals according to menu and serving of meals in accordance with individual resident's diet.
Responsibilities:
Prepare food on menu, making substitutions in menu only to make best use of food, supplies, and to maintain equivalent calorie value and nutritional quality. Ensure that food is served in appropriate quantity, at appropriate temperatures and in a form consistent with the developmental level of the resident. Economical use of equipment and food supplies to prepare an attractive and nutritionally adequate meal following the menu and physician's orders. Cooperate with other departments within the facility to insure nutritional and dietary needs of residents are met. Attend all departmental and facility in-service meetings. Attend all departmental staff meetings. Supervise the dietary aide in fulfilling his/her duties. Work on scheduled days of week, at scheduled times, and when emergencies arise when requested. Clean any equipment used for preparation of meal during their shift. Other projects or duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must possess a High School diploma or GED. Ability to follow directions and standardized recipes. Must have good communication, comprehension and writing skills. Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced, ever changing environment. Must have the ability to interact with others in a positive manner and maintain harmonious working relationships with facility staff. Must be in good physical condition and maintain a neat appearance.
