Our Dietary Cook play a vital role in ensuring that residents receive nutritious, appealing and safe meals every day. The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents in accordance with planned menus, physician orders and regulatory guidelines. This position ensures meals are served safely, timely and with quality presentation. The Dietary Cook helps create a positive dining experience for residents in our long-term care community. Career Advancement Paid Time Off & Holiday Pay Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook meals for residents according to planned menus, recipes, and special diet requirements. Ensure food is prepared and served at the correct temperatures and in a timely manner. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and food preparation areas, following infection control and food safety standards. Follow portion control guidelines and minimize food waste. Supervise Dietary Aides and assist with meal service as needed. Monitor inventory, label and store food properly, and notify the Dietary Manager of needed supplies. Interact with residents in a courteous, respectful manner to create a positive dining experience. Comply with all state, federal, and local health regulations and facility policies. Perform other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager or Administrator.
Compensation and Schedule Hours:
Day 5:30am - 2:00pm / Evenings 12:00pm - 8:30pm
Status:
Part Time, Every Other Weekend (2 days a week / 4 days a pay)

Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior cooking experience in a healthcare, long-term care, or institutional setting strongly preferred. Knowledge of modified diets and safe food handling practices. ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
