Childcare Cook CWCC Inc Centerville, OH Job Details Full-time 17 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Employee discount Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Position Summary The cook will perform cooking duties and lead food preparation for children within the childcare setting including planning, ordering, shopping, and preparing meals for children. The cook should meet all requirements for health and safety. Major Responsibilities and Tasks Menu Planning and Food Preparation Prepares and cooks nutritious meals that are culturally appropriate for children for children 0-12 years of age. Operates standard kitchen equipment. Prepares meals and snacks on time that fits the center's routine. Prepares alternative foods/beverages for children with allergies or special diets according to company policy. Records all menu changes according to company policy. Food and Supplies Purchasing Inventories and maintains proper amounts of supplies for assigned meals. Coordinates with administration for the purchasing of food and supplies through approved vendors. Inspects orders to ensure proper quantity and quality. Keeps record of all packing slips, receipts, and order forms. Food Education Provides support to the faculty regarding food and cooking experiences for children. Educates children on the importance of nutrition and good practices while preparing and eating food. Nutrition and Sanitation Ensures food is properly stored and food preparation areas are kept clean. Monitoring hygiene and safety of the kitchen through daily cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment. Participates in the cleaning of the kitchen and assuring that sanitation and safety standards are met. Other Responsibilities Acts as an aide/floater to help maintain ratios in certain situations. Any other duties assigned by center administration. Basic Qualifications High school diploma Preferred Qualifications ServSafe Certification Prior cooking experience Physical Requirements Ability to lift 25-35 lbs. Ability to walk, kneel, sit, and stand for long periods
