Job Description

Restaurant Beck is seeking a motivated and passionate Entry-Level Line Cook to join our culinary team. This position is ideal for someone looking to develop their skills in a fine dining environment while working alongside experienced chefs committed to excellence. The successful candidate will possess a solid foundation in culinary fundamentals, strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a desire to learn and grow within a professional kitchen. Knowledge of basic knife skills, cooking techniques, mise en place, and food safety practices is essential. Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to Restaurant Beck standards and recipes. Execute daily mise en place and station setup before service. Demonstrate proficiency in basic knife cuts including julienne, brunoise, chiffonade, batonnet, and dice. Assist with vegetable preparation, protein fabrication, sauce preparation, and other prep tasks. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation throughout each shift. Follow proper food handling, labeling, dating, and storage procedures. Work efficiently during service while maintaining quality and consistency. Communicate effectively with chefs and fellow team members regarding timing and execution. Assist with receiving, stocking, and inventory organization. Participate in daily cleaning and station breakdown procedures. Continuously learn and apply fine dining cooking and plating techniques. QualificationsRequired 1+ year of experience in a professional kitchen preferred. Previous experience in a fine dining, upscale casual, or chef-driven restaurant preferred. Understanding of fundamental cooking methods including: Sautéing Roasting Grilling Braising Blanching Frying Basic knife skills and safe knife handling practices. Knowledge of mise en place and kitchen organization. Ability to follow recipes precisely and consistently. Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Culinary school education or equivalent training. Food Handler or ServSafe certification. Experience working multiple stations in a professional kitchen. Interest in seasonal ingredients, scratch cooking, and fine dining techniques.
